Stermy Interview
Themen sind Vorbereitung zur QuakeCon, die Selbstanalyse seiner Spiele, die neuen id-Maps (ca2, T7, T9), die CTF Teilnahme, fnatic und seine fesche Frisur.Â
“Well for this event we had to prepare seven maps. For me it was definitely a hard job because I had to prepare for maps all these guys played for all the years I stopped playing Quake 3, so I had to catch up a good few years during the time I was in CGS and when I played Quake 4. Maps like DM6, ZTN, DM13, and T4. The new maps were pretty easy to pick up and get better than guys who played the game more than I did, but when it came down to old maps I really had to put a lot of effort to have an understanding of positioning and situational stuff. I think I did great to get used to it and learn the old maps, but I definitely couldn’t perfect all of them. So, I think right now since I had to prepare seven maps, I wasn’t really 100% and need to still get the rust off.”
Chance Interview
Über sein Match gegen
k1llsen in dem er 2:1 Maps unterlag.
“I psyched myself out during the beginning of the killsen game. I don’t know, I’m just so used to playing practice games and I’m not used to playing tournament matches so it’s hard to make the connection. When you’re practicing you can’t really practice for match games because I mean you play like 100 practice games a day or whatever and you do a lot of experimentation. You play differently in practice games and so it’s hard to make the transition to match games and having to do that in one of the first games of the tournament, it was really hard for me. Tourney 9 I just kinda blew it. I could probably beat him 8 out of 10 times on t9 if I just kept playing him. Then, ztn came around and I got it together because I knew I had to or id lose the match. Then ca2 came along and I was beating him. It was only like 5-0 but I felt so comfortable and again I fell back into practice mode and it was like whatever I have the lead. At that point you usually win if you’re that ahead and with the way ca2 is, it’s really one sided if you can get control. I think I peeked for a rail or something and I had lower health than I should’ve and he railed me and gained control.”
