Inmitten der Gaminglandschaft hat sich über die Jahre eine weitere Community gebildet: Die der Moviemaker, deren Passion es geworden ist, Gaming in eindrucksvoller visueller Weise auch den Menschen außerhalb der Communitys näherzubringen.

Viele kreative Menschen verbringen Tage, Wochen und manchmal sogar Monate damit, an ihrem Werk zu feilen, um sie dann auf einschlägigen Seiten den Leuten präsentieren zu können. Von spektakulären Frag-Videos, Hommagen, bis zu richtigen Kurzfilmen reicht die Auswahl des Angebots. Dadurch sorgen sie nicht nur für Zustrom in den jeweiligen Disziplinen, sondern zeigen auch auf, mit welchem Engagement diese Menschen für ihr Lieblingsspiel Inhalte schaffen.

Der Games Mini Video Contest soll genau diese Menschen fördern, ihnen einen Wettbewerb bieten und mit own3D.tv eine Plattform, um ihre Werke auch in Zukunft für die Masse populärer zu machen. Die beliebtesten Online-Spiele Counter Strike 1.6 & Source, Quake III Arena, Enemy Territory, DotA und Warcraft III dürfen als Kategorie gewählt werden. Eine Videolänge von maximal 99 Sekunden soll Euch dazu motivieren, viel Kreativität in relativ kurze Spielzeit zu verpacken.

Bevor Ihr euer Werk auf own3D.tv hochladet, müsst ihr euch zuerst für den Contest registrieren, wer ohne Registrierung ein Movie veröffentlicht, wird disqualifiziert und nimmt dadurch natürlich nicht am Contest teil! Nach diesem Vorgang wird eine Jury die besten Einsendungen herausfiltern, deren letztendliche Platzierung über einen Community-Vote entschieden wird. Dabei haben beide Parteien – Moviemaker, sowie Voter – die Chance, einen von 10 Dell Minis gewinnen.

Den drei besten Videos pro Kategorie winken insgesamt 500 Euro an Preisgeld. Der glückliche Gewinner des Contests darf sich über einen ultramobilen und ultraleichten Dell Mini freuen.

Video Criteria

• Only videos that have not been published on the Internet previously are eligible for contest submission. Videos submitted should not have partaken in any other previous contest activity.
• Video may not be uploaded on other web portals than own3d.tv
• At the start or end of the video – the artist has to mention the “Games Mini Video Contest” powered by Dell Mini and the official contest URL (detailed information further below)
• Intro and outro are optional
• The video should have exactly 99 seconds runtime.
• Except for the contest sponsors – no other sponsors can be displayed or mentioned in the video. Commercial marketing of any kind is prohibited.
• Only recorded game sequences, e.g. from replays, can be used. Trailers, movies and music videos are not allowed. Own rendered 3D effects and logos are not affected by this rule.
• staged or aimbot frags are not allowed
• Trailers of any kind are excluded from the contest Who can participate?
• The minimum age of moviemaker for participating in Q3 & ET is 18 years, in other categories of the contest the minimum age is 16 years.
• The participation of teams as single contesters is allowed. The teams have to appoint an official representative for the team to participate in the contest. Only the representative is allowed to upload. The representative will receive any prizes on behalf of the team. • A single person or team is only allowed to upload and submit 1 video per game category.

How can I participate?

Participants have to send an email with the subject “Video Contest Registration“ to: mini@own3d.tv.

In the email, participants should state:

• Full Name (in case of teams: team headcount, name of all team members and the name of the team)
• Birth date
• Postal address
• E-Mail address
• Telephone numbers
• Game Category (e.g. Counter Strike 1.6)

After this email application has been confirmed by the contest organizers – the participants of the contest will receive all relevant guidelines for uploading their videos. Uploading videos without proper contest application or publishing them on other Web sites will lead to automatic disqualification.

Contest process / establishing the winners

• All participants must enroll via email and upload their videos on own3d.tv until 02.27.2009 24:00 (CET) the latest.
• Videos that have been uploaded after the official end of the contest are disqualified from the contest
• A dedicated Jury will select the top 9 videos and contenders in each category.
• The top 9 videos of each category will be published on the corresponding partner sites (www.own3D.tv / www.readmore.de / www.derQuaker.com / www.efever.de). The community of the contest portals will then elect the final winners.

At the start or end of the video – you have to mention the “Games Mini Video Contest”.
